Yes appropriately skilled toons where used for the above testing. All weapons drain the same amount of stamina, based on the values macing does not receive any additional stamina drain on hits.

Also Gnarled staff, Blackstaff, Maul, Waraxe, Club, Hammer Pick were all checked and matched damage with the test weapons.

Here are the statistics that matched across the tested weapons when I was asked to test them. I am only including an example of matched value, but they matched every time the same HP damage was hit. So far on tested weapons the stamina drain does not seem to be any different based on the weapon...

So basically what this is showing is that there is no stamina difference compared to using any of the weapons. Historically maces have always been "stamina burning" type weapons comapred to any other dexer class. This also shows that it does little if any Stamina loss to a lower stamina target...
