I just got home, and I'm having the same problems as OP. I was able to play fine a couple of days ago. Running as administrator doesn't have any effect. When I ping login.uoforever.com I get time outs. Oh well..don't really feel like dealing with it tonight so will try reinstalling tomorrow.

You should consider hooking up the person (DocOp) who just made a thread (called "Suggestions plz") because he mentioned he has like 4-5 buddies who are all playing as well. It's always cool to see a group of friends migrate to a server.
