If I'm not mistaken, there are two different types of crystal benches. It takes a certain, "pre-patched" one, if you will, to do it. Bobby has one locked down in his Occolo vendor house and I can't use it to imbue newb'd stuff, so maybe the other one works. I could be totally wrong though.
