Nope, all your characters/account information is server side, the client stuff just lets you access that information and use it.
I'd just wipe it all and do it over for the sake of simplicity, may take a bit longer but definitely less confusing.
steam needs a raw, unaltered uo folder (no sallos file replacements). may have to re download a fresh UO from the installer.
I use steam/sallos in tandem almost every time i play, (pvp and macroing up other characters) and it works fine.

I am not anti-bola, but couldn't the main reason most people want them in (endless running) be mitigated through mount stamina? As it is now faction stam only plays a part when you are like half health or lower i think. mount stam would effectively limit how much of an area you can fuck around...
