I paged a GM last night to ask about whether it's ok to tame/release in dungeon to tame on another char for enhanced gains.
It is not alllowed and you'll get in trouble if you do it. The reason it's not allowed is because people were releasing hundreds of tameables in dungeons to create...
Just run to the shrine. It is in the southern part of ice isle. Just follow the mountain and you will encounter a pass through the mountain. If you're in deceit, follow the mountain south and it isn't very far at all.
The provoke table in deceit 1 is definitely what you want to do. You will need to pull together some cash to buy a bunch of instruments but you definitely want to get provoke done before you lose young status because griefers periodically train that place to get everyone killed and it will be a...
Combat skills are very easy to raise and your gain rate is pretty much normal here.
Unlike OSI servers, you can build a solid mage here in 2 days without any prior resources.
It's wise to focus on building a crafter while you have young player status. You can macro provoke to 100 in 1...
I go about magery a different way. I don't bother macroing it and I make a profit in the process. It goes up really fast through normal use in dungeon.
Macro eval to 100.
Train magery off an NPC
Farm mobs with lightning, then ebolt, then flamestrike.
In 1 evening you're basically done...
Some players can use scripts to counteract any "skill" associated with timers being hidden from the user.
I agree with the OP that the buff bar should be implemented.
I'm ok with new players being able to become thieves if they have to renounce their young player status to join thieves guild. That might already be a restriction (not sure). If not, it needs to be or we'll see griefre thieves that can steal from you in town with zero repricussions.
I think they probably need to add some more triggers to the list of things that can end young mode.
AFAIK, total skill exceeding some number is the only one that currently ends young mode.
There should be one for provoke > 80 because you can easily macro provoke to 80+ in 1 night and 80...
I ran a lot of packs on OSI. I made a pack here and the dmg seemed roughly half what the dmg was on OSI.
I'm pretty sure PI is disabled here regardless of whether you've seen an official response.
I've always liked packs so I kinda wish it worked here but it's not a game stopper that it...
For the first 2 months of OSI UO I played a character that ran to the dungeon, picked chests there to loot non-magic gear and then ran back to town to sell the crap for gold. The excitement of my playstyle was that I did it in despise and there were almost always pks in front of despise killing...
It split the population and ultimately caused most players to just stay in trammel all the time for easier and safer farming/trading.
It's a delicate balance. It's very difficult to build a system that makes it fun for wolves but also fun enough for sheep that they don't leave all together...
I think the new player system is sufficient. Granted, I was a LONG time UO vet that started the month after OSI UO's release so the systems in place weren't foreign to me except when I got pked the first time (as a new) and my stuff was still on me when I res'd. I was kinda baffled lol.
The...
I was in the same boat as you guys until yesterday. It's REAL easy to get lp up on this server.
Just make a char with 50 tinker 50 carp or train those skills off an npc. Make a few boxes (you only need one but it's good to have a backup in case you get pked). Make lockpicks until you have...
I got a 10 exceptional Verite plate gorget BoD last night. If I just turn in the BoD itself I will get a bronze hammer. If I get the LBOD + the 5 other small bods I will get a +60 ASH.
I was leaning toward taking the bronze hammer because it's an easy reward and it seems to me that it would...
We don't need pvp free areas. That's been done to death and a lot of the ppl who play here don't like pvp free areas.
That said, you're noticing an interesting phenomena that happens here. What it boils down to is that most players avoid risk where possible. They will act all hard like...
A lot of ppl put alchemy on their pvp warrior because of how explosion potions work with alchemy. Devs have said they're going to be tweaking that so the bomb-melee builds may be getting nerfed. As of right now, bomb/nox fencer is one of the more powerful pvp builds.
I definitely wouldn't...
