I was thinking mostly in PVM terms. If shields reduced magic damage, they'd probably be used a lot more. You could also buff parry by having it apply a parry chance to your weapons. Maybe some 2h templates would pick up parry if it resulted in better survivability.

I can only assume that, not only from the lack of evidence, but also because said owner of the second hammer hasn't tried to get a piece of this sweet action, that so low is, in fact, full of shit. Disappointing, but not suprising.
