This is my first time using steam. So far there are a few things I like about it, and a whole lot I can't stand. I think the whole macro system with steam is way over complicated. Razor's macro system was, yes, a bit more generic, but if you thought through what you wanted to do, you could...
Doobey, you are absolutely insane. If you think these hammers will be worth anywhere over 500k, you're out of your mind. Ok yea, a few people with tons of money to burn may drop 1-3 million to get one of the first ones. However, after that, these are going to be a piece of cake to get. Slayer...
Because unless the item is blessed, you should have a chance to lose your item in every transaction. That's what UO has always been about -- Risk vs Reward.
Gore, the only one who seems to be raging about this is you. The rest of us are trying to have a solid debate into the positives and negatives of the "safe-zone" system. And as you can see from this thread, it certainly seems like the majority of individuals on the server oppose it. Finally...
Lol, let's be real for just a second. Being a thief is hardly lazy -- It's incredibly more difficult for a thief to get lucky with a good item as it is for a tamer or provoker to get said item in the first place.
Seems like a lot more people are in favor of removing the Docks than those protecting it. At least judging by this thread and the other... GMs should let us vote on this and make it a reality.
It looks like my topic is getting a lot of interest -- I'm really not quite sure why my original post was closed as I feel that this is a good topic that should be discussed.
Having said that, I personally do not think that thief mechanics are imbalanced at all -- I don't see anything being...
The docks GREATLY effects the dynamic of the game. If you're going to have expensive stuff -- I want you to have to fight to keep it. Yes, I want you to have or valuable scrolls and BOD cloth taken from you if you are not careful. Hell, I want it to be taken from me if I'm not careful. Risk vs...
This wouldn't create any extra work for GMs lol. Pretty easy to just insta ignore and appeal regarding stealing. You, the guy who is crying about people not being able to pvp worth a shit should be more in favor of this than anyone. If anything at all, removal of the safe trading zone would...
Almost every person who has commented in this thread in support of the change does not play a thief. I don't like the "safe trade" and glow-y item culture and mentality. It's one of the factors that destroyed UO Gamers. I want you to have to work to protect your stuff and police your own trades.
Exactly. Go trade at a bank where there aren't naked thieves everywhere. Cast reveal. Pay attention to who you are buying and selling with. Thieving is not overpowered here... it's really no different than it was on OSI or any other shard of this time period. It's time for players to police...
Obviously this is going to be incredibly controversial. However, am I the only one who thinks safe trading zones like the Docks are incredibly stupid? One of the factors that I feel makes UO so special is the fact that danger lurks around every corner. Now, I don't even play a thief, but I hate...
