Instanced was OK on eq2 because the battles were all out side the instance entrances trying to prevent the other guild/group from entering. And waiting for them to exit with loot. Of course this was on the PvP servers.

You'll want to choose a half way point for your vpn. Choosing a location closest to the server defeats the purpose of the vpn.

I agree. However I don't think any game mechanics should protect the island. If the island winner wants to make it a private island so be it. But if events are going to be held there; then there is no reason for the training wheels.

Well if you have protection; what's with the game mechanics protection? That's what UO is about. If a pk or thief disrupts a player event, then players should address the disruption.

I have used BattlePing in the past with good results to the prodo servers. Haven't needed it with UOF. But, since your in AU, I'd give it a try.

Try rolling back your drivers for your nic and/or wifi. If that doesn't work make sure you have the latest drivers for your network as well as the latest graphics driver. Go directly to the manufacturers websites to obtain the drivers.
