I'd love to have some sort of combat dogs. Ya know, war hounds, tough fast mofos that tear people apart. Or at least stop them with a bite, for second or two, hate this nonstop chasing people.
Razor has 600ms delay when it comes to some stuff. Can be lowered, UOsteam has it too. Unsure aboout mouse in separate thread, have you tried unchecking that?
It's funny skill, tho detect is better I'd say.. If you're one leg deep in looter's business like me, then you'll profit more with detect hidden. Also, if you plan to kill people, then ALWAYS in self defense! Never attack someone who is not red or gray to you, provo is also counted as hostile...
Depends on many factors...
random steal or targeted?
weight of stolen item,
and most importantly, number of eyes around! Less people in 8x8 area, less chance to get spotted.
Also, luck ;)
Face it, shadowsteals were boring. What's the point in playing a thief when stealing anything is piece of cake? Oy King, why would you need pvp thief to have a chance to steal? Stealing is fun, and chase that follows (if it follows, loads of people just sit still frozen with shock) is even better.
It's always skill to skill compared, so if your opponent has 0 weapon skill he will hit you once in a blue moon, if he has GM like you then it will be 50% chance. So if he has GM and you have 0... you're dead.
Btw regarding what Fingers said, I roll with 20-30 regs on me and veeeeeery rarely...
There are two schools of thief: Fighter thief aka thug, and stealther thief. So, decide...
Do you want a pvp template to steal their heals and kill 'em? Go mage/dex 5x with steal/snoop. That's my fav lately, had enough of "I can't fight back so I must run" mentality.
Do you want to sneak...
Dex's need GM resist, for starters. And magery too, otherwise it's long offscreening runs before bandage puts you back in fight. Without magery it's somewhat luck based, gheal pots recover random HP, and getting 10hp when you need 30 can prove fatal. However OP missed the important part, weapon...
EVs are good the way they are. Best way to kill dismounted guy who forgot to set dispel on hotkey. Besides, it's the only way to "fight" for mage without eval. So leave them alone.
It's good business, if you plan to solo them get lockpicking up as much as you can, carto too, and roll as tamer or provo bard. Used to do these a lot on certain other very populated but now very dead shard, good money.
Well, you can make maps with it. Local maps, city maps, sea charts and whatnot. But main use is very profitable treasure hunting, and dat's good! You need certain skill level to decipher treasure maps. That's probably all the info you can get. No other uses, no fancy gimmicks, just this.
