The Vesper Commerce Commission is happy to report continued success in defending its assets at sea! Several lone wolves have reared their very ugly, very hairy heads and have since been very disposed of.
Increased tamer presence on islands and at sea have resulted in the privateers...
Go to Minoc and use Mount Kendall. It's fairly quiet there.
The RP community here is basically just humans vs. orcs, so you'll likely find a spot for your blacksmith and your orc (assuming they're different characters).
Welcome to UOF. Fair winds and following seas.
It would depend on the ship. I use a large dragon preferably, so don't have to worry about improved cannons. I would give up chain shot on a Tokuno, and Crow's Nest on either the orc or the gargish. They're tanks designed to take a beating, but they aren't effective interceptors or chasers.
I thought the mast issue got fixed, or was getting fixed, for the recent patch/restart?
The classic ships are smaller and easier to maneuver. Galleons really require crews to make the most of. I won't get into tactical details, but suffice to say you're a bigger target. Lots of damage per...
Then you would lose a level on your ship. It is not to own the ship (like the old system had been, where sinking a ship meant either paying the ransom or losing your ship to the other player). Instead it is there to save your ship from losing a level or, in the case of your ship being a level 1...
I would recommend reading it again. The "ransom" system is not up for the players to decide; it's a set price and a small one at that. It's additionally only there to give players a "buy out" option instead of taking the hit of losing a ship level and/or losing their unleveled ship (if it's...
With the last few months' jump in sea activity, more folks are moving out to sea, from entire guilds to groups of friends to small parts of guilds looking for something else that land doesn't offer them. The Sea Champ is around the corner, Booty Island is about to be released and mibbing is as...

The Vesper Commerce Commission recommends using any number of the rich streams and rivers that flow through the Windemere Woods north of Vesper or perhaps along Lost Hope Bay in Minoc for fish. This license is for seafaring vessels that often engage in whaling, wrecking and lost acquisitions at...
SEAFARING SUNDAY FUNDAY CHEETO HAS A MANBUNDAY!
The Vesper Commerce Commission kept the oceans safe and clear from pirates, illegal whalers and other law breaking assholes unregistered seamen today in fantastic fashion! It began when a patrol passed an inner city island in the ghetto of the...
The week draws to an end with an eventful and successful enforcement of ship licensure by the Vesper Commerce Commission!
Captain Merrman of the S.S. Bluebottle had given the Commission warning of an illegal ship operating off of the coast of Verity Isle, and so Captain Van Raily of...
Successful patrols ensure continued dominion over the waters by the Vesper Commerce Commission!
A wizard had escaped pursuit near the Britanny Isles. In an effort to test if the coast was clear, he set off his ship unmanned. Recognizing the ship, the Otter cornered the vessel...
Welcome, and yeah, there are. Don't expect too many large plots right off the bat, but I just returned myself and placed a classic brick house (the big square one) after looking for a spot for 20-30 minutes. They exist. IDOCs will usually require a group for obvious reasons.
The seas grow quieter and safer as the Vesper Commerce Commission routinely and efficiently safeguards its private aquatic assets, both domestically and abroad!
Apparently, a previously known pirate had been searching the waters, seeking prey. Alerted by an attacked fisherman, the Otter...
