I've advocated for expl pots splashing and hitting everyone... that's one of the things I said. If that change is made, I'd ask for no other PvP skill changes. So, it makes sense. Sounds good. Let's do it.
Just confused. I clearly know nothing about PvP in UO and UOF because I'm proposing PvP changes and want expl potions changes. You did exactly that.
In other words, the PvP Elite don't feel that others are worthy of making suggestions to their format. Yeah, it's a system that caters to you...
A "wise" man once said:
This person said all of this in a thread HE/SHE created in which he wanted a series of changes.
I guess when they say it, the suggestions are valid. Interesting.
I hate when vet players exploit the "shit" out of a new system for a chance at an almost irrelevant reward.
The part in bold is true for UOF, but is not true for UO throughout the years (which you've claimed I know nothing about). Structured PvP should be a place for both casual and group PvP...
Nah, K A Z said that a good player will always win, regardless of the template. It's right up there.
I've specified "mage 1v1" numerous times. We know what the conversation is. But, yeah, pre-nerf, PvP tamers were far superior. It's why the mages begged for nerfs.
You have absolutely no clue about me or my PvP experience. Comments like this are asinine.
It's so weird, because you just said this:
"it'd become fucking boring and nobody would ever die?"
So, breaking up the meta mage build would be "fucking boring" because "nobody would ever die", while a...
Because not everyone wants to fight groups of organized PvPers with PvM chars? Because that's not fun for a lot of people, despite how easy and rewarding it is to the reds? Of course, champ spawn PvP is good for UOF, but it doesn't mean that structured PvP should be reserved for groups and...
Why the arrogance? I don't have the PvP experience to make suggestions here? How ridiculous is that?
Not only do you know nothing about me or my PvP experience, I'm arguing with truths that have all already been established here. Irregardless of my PvP experience, alchy/stun is the meta mage...
Ugh... I've always hated that argument. "A great player using wrestling and fishing can kill a toddler running a stun/alchy mage, therefore wrestling/fishing is viable in PvP." You don't compare lesser and greater ability when comparing the effectiveness of two builds... you compare the...
You and your guild were in warring guilds and decided to attack each other "all day", reaching the relatively low damage cap for each player you attacked. You and your guild would likely finish in ranks 80-100 of the participating PvPers on the server, would have a chance to gain 2k gold, and...
I understand all of that. It's reasonable. But I'm referring to mage 1v1, and in mage 1v1, stun/alchy is the clear-cut meta mage build. This should be fixed.
I have two suggestions under discussion right now, and they sort of work together. One brings casual players, solo players and PvMers...
Which is why the concept would be developed and refined until both weren't true.
We've already established a daily cap for damage done against a single target. This makes it impossible to macro for any substantial gain. It would only work for militia characters, so there are the added account...
Now, it would only be a chance for the top 5 or so players to get such a large amount, and that number is just an example... but, if you make it something desirable, players will play, even if playing means dying to the big guilds.
My only intent is to get the majority of interested players...
Not against eventscore by any means.
Well, it doesn't have to be PvM rewards, but it does have to be something desired by all. It just so happens that PvM drives this shard, and the PvM rewards are the most valuable rewards here. So, remove PvM rewards and convert it to gold: the top 5 PvPers...
Apologies, but the idea proposed in this thread would absolutely not guarantee anything to anyone. The idea would give the top 5 players in PvP a 50% chance of receiving a relic or powerscroll of significance, and that chance (and the quality of the item) would diminish from there.
Conversely...
Absolutely. It still falls below stun/alchy in mage 1v1, which makes me thing something should be balanced. If stun/alchy were divided, poisoning may have it's place (next to stun) in that format.
I absolutely agree with all of that.
I think the key would be then balancing dexers. I don't believe that, because a certain dexer is strong, only one meta mage build should exist.
(To answer your last point: I think it's because of how strong mages really are in groups. That whole...
When it comes to mage vs mage, I don't necessarily agree. There are two ways to achieve this: a rock-paper-scissors structure, or continued balancing. Separating stun from alchemy and watching the shift in mage builds would allow for this.
Actually, these would exist right now if the "PvP Elite" didn't rush to the forums and beg for a nerf to tamers in PvP. With tamers being as strong as they were, a 5x mage with music and peace would be an extremely powerful build. Of course, instead of adapting, they begged for (and got) a...
