Steam can't "see" the weapon unless you have the pack open, unfortunately. The UO client's last target macro can, but then you can't script that as well.
Closest thing to this are the team of Knights in SIR who ride with Talmanes and the Dragon Knights looking to combat reds in dungeons - I know they have no alt PKS.
Cool original idea - it would be better if each Highlander could not heal any other. There would still be guild cooperation but not quite as much of an advantage.
My defense talisman PVM character is officially retired until this change is reverted. I'm in the exact same boat as @Samosa, thinking the defense talisman was a huge waste of time and gold. On to other things in game, but with my confidence in this place badly damaged.
The countdown timer is a bit confusing because it displays for 2 different reasons:
The timer begins counting down when quench is activated, then disappears when quench becomes inactive
If you are hit with firebreath while quench inactive, the timer displays how much longer until it can be...
Works in UOSteam as well - checkbox to filter out light levels.
If you're a UO purist, however, I believe the nightsight spell is more effective and long-lasting the higher your magery skill is.
Like you, I'm struggling with this change, trying to see how to enjoy PVM as defense now that there's such a wide-open mechanism for griefers to ruin it for me. I don't believe I'll quit UOForever, I really love it here, but I will likely have to switch to a different character to enjoy it as...
Works like it should!?
Let's go back in time to when most of us picked our talisman, and take a look at the choices:
Berserker - increased damage vs monsters
Mage - improved spellcasting damage and mana efficiency vs monsters
Resilience - decreased damage from monsters (unless someone attacks...
So is there a consensus that this should be changed so it only affects the aggressor? I'd include "and those who choose to fight back" as long as it gave me a chance to make a decision, like in @Peav 's suggestion.
I have very little interest in being the aggressor in PVP on my talisman character, but if I was to go out hunting enemies, I'd accept having the talisman effect deactivated. Most of the time though, I am engaged in group/slolo PVM, with some showcase-type PVP (the Knights duels) which are not...
I've had the experience of being attacked on my pvm character, trying to escape by running into heavy spawn to hide, and failing and watching in dismay while the PK takes his time in said spawn without taking damage while he dry loots me. I figure that's a typical scenario this change is meant...
