While that does sound like me (and good advise), I think my points were a bit more strategic than that broad statement.
I mean why not just embrace it?
Overstated indeed.
UO has always been item based for pvp (see dexxors, potions, armor) - I think you are confusing pvp based solely on items (insurance era of OSI) vs what we have here -- even with wands. If you don't like wands, that's your own opinion. Personally for me, I like the variety...
Actually per that other unnammed shard's forum, it was due to bad programming/coding - not performance or DDOS issues. Hence failed implementation.
Don't get me wrong, I think the idea is novel, but as a pk, there's no way I would want to waste time with that or some other activity very often...
^^This is what I mean. Just deal with how the mechanics are and let it be - they are not bad mechanics. Regardless of what things are changed to in UO, people will always find some way to use it to an advantage -- its part of UO to do that.
My actual opinion is that talismans are fine as they are now and people just like to whine.
Their powers are reduced towards pets
They push PvPers into doing PvM stuff
Great for economy if PvPers are also looking to max out a talisman
Brings in new strategies.
Everyone can have one
Wands...
Regardless how this is dressed up, it looks like all you are trying to say is:
"Defense Talismans give advantage to pvpers in dungeons or vs tamers"
Does that sum it up? I mean why make this more complex then it should be. The only solution I see above is to de-equip the talisman upon being...
Skill points are a reflection of an opinion not fact. People think a lot of dumb things about skill points -- "if i pvp I have to have gm resist" or "Poisoning is not useful above 70" -- Same thing applies here. If your character had nothing but 300 skill points and in one character you put...
While you are completely childish and wrong about everything, I will say that... yes you are still wrong here.
The main problem with archery is not that you cannot throw pots, it is instead with the swing speed. Speed that up slightly and it will be better in small groups or 1v1. That said...
Source: I PK
Windows can be used to attack players
Missing wall tiles (corner pieces usually) allow a sliver of line of sight
Being in a house higher than the one your target is in can let you "see down" to get line of sign
Exp pots hit within 3 tiles of a wall
Chain Lightning or Metor Swarm...
These new IDOC changes keep getting better and better honestly. Thinking how it was and some of the prior changes... it has stepped up quite a bit -- and I don't even PVM but I like it.
Not a huge fan of the NPC because I think these should be events for those that want to spend time to find...
I've never felt I needed remove trap. I think it would be nice sometimes when tons of mobs are around, but I wouldn't sacrifice anything in my build for it.
And to be fair, its really only useful for dungeon chests that you pick - which isn't exaclty the most worthwhile thing to do (except...
I have a couple sets of Barbed armor and high end runic weapons. I say no thanks.
Join factions, and consentually sign yourself up for PvP, and gather the silver, and find a trustworthy faction blacksmith, and be in a faction that owns a town...
...then it is balanced to have a short term...
